Dr. Luciane Colla has a PhD and master degree in Food Science and Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande, Brazil. She is  Professor at the University of Passo Fundo since 2002, the responsible of the Sensory Analysis Laboratory of the Food Research Center since 2007 and the coordinator of the Technological Park of the University of Passo Fundo.

Her main research topics are microalgae cultivation and its applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries and for the production of third-generation biofuels; submerged and solid-state fermentation; bioremediation of oily residues in soils using microbial biosurfactants. She has published more than 95 indexed manuscripts with a H-index of 31.
